About
James Hallé is a landscape gardener based in Durban. He did his horticultural apprenticeship with the Royal Horticultural Society in the United Kingdom and has worked on a wide range of projects, ranging from wild flower rehabilitation on private nature reserves, to designing public spaces and domestic gardens.James is fascinated by the ability of gardens to connect people to nature and the affect that outdoor spaces have on the human psyche.
The long-term sustainability of the gardens he creates is important to him, so his designs are based on ecologically sound principals and the use of plants and materials appropriate to the site and general environment. A hands-on approach with great attention to detail, coupled with extensive plant knowledge, creates well thought out gardens that not only compliment any architecture, but create beautiful functional spaces that will add value for years to come.
